Nut Mylk/Dairy Milk Alternatives
Luz Almond
There’s nothing like cold, creamy, delicious almond milk. And Luz Almond offers it up in four awesome flavours (original, medjool dates, espresso and cacao), using activated Australian almonds. Luz is now also making mouth watering almond-based ice creams and even has yoghurt in the mix now. Their milks are cold pressed, gluten and soy free, use pure filtered water and are made with a whole lotta love.
3SS recommends: The Espresso, naturally sweetened with medjool dates, a super scrumptious way to start the morning and get your caffeine hit, minus the lactose.
Visit: Multiple stockists in Queensland, Victoria and New South Wales, and also available in a select number of cafes/restaurants.
Almond Milk Co
Gluten, dairy and preservative free, these guys have been getting incredible press lately, and rightfully so. Almond Milk Co has pretty much taken the Melbourne cafe scene by storm, so next time you’re ordering your Matcha latte with almond milk, you can probably thank Cameron Earl for how darn delicious, smooth and silky it tastes. Currently their website is still under construction, but head over to their Instagram account to keep in the loop with where they’ll be available next.
Visit: Over EIGHTY cafes across Melbourne, where you can enjoy your almond milk beverage, some of which will even sell the milk to you direct if you ask nicely..
Inside Out
With seven different almond milks to choose from, you’ll be spoiled for choice at Inside Out. Their products are non-GMO, Kosher and are processed using cold-pressure (also known as high-pressure processing or ‘HPP’), which kills any nasties while preserving the taste and nutritional qualities of the milks. Their original almond milk is naturally sweetened using Natvia, and they also offer an unsweetened version which you can easily use in cooking and baking.
3SS recommends: The Salted Caramel and Cold Brew Coffee, both AUD$4.95 each for 350ml. They’re also now selling coconut milks for those who want to try something a little different (available in unsweetened and original).
Visit: Available at five Melbourne stockists store locations, or order online @ www.organicangels.com.
