Author of the delightful Whole Hearted Eats Sophie is a whole foods and plant-based foods connoisseur. Her cooking encompasses a wide range of styles including vegan, raw, gluten free, and allergy friendly foods. Having worked in numerous vegetarian and organic bakeries and luncheonettes in and around Vancouver Island, she’s a pro at adapting recipes to various nutrition needs.
She’s a lover of autumn, cozy sweaters, the smell of the rain on the foliage, the crackle of wood stoves, and the misty fog that lays over the Pacific.
Autumn is a super special time of the year for me- when the market are overflowing with beautiful kale and squashes, and its the perfect time to go foraging for mushrooms.

Favourite place to visit
» I love visiting Tofino, which is really close to where I grew up on Vancouver Island. Its a beautiful spot on there west coast where you can see bears, eagles, and whales. And where the trees are as big as skyscrapers. It’s a very magical and special place full of history and indescribable beauty.
